After being announced ahead of last year’s San Diego Comic-Con, fans have finally gotten a taste of what to expect from the new vampire sitcom Eternally Yours from Ghosts showrunners Joe Port and Joe Wiseman. The series is set to debut on CBS this fall in Ghosts’ regular time slot, and SDCC attendees were treated to an early screening of the pilot episode followed by a panel Q&A with stars Ed Weeks, Allegra Edwards, Jaren Lewinson, Helen J. Shen, and Parker Young moderated by Collider’s Perri Nemiroff. During the panel, the cast, along with showrunners Joe Port and Joe Wiseman, confirmed new details about the series, giving audiences a better idea of what to expect this fall.

Attendees at SDCC were also given a sneak peek at the new series with a preview of the first episode, months ahead of its fall premiere on CBS. The new sitcom follows a coven of vampires led by Charles and Liz who are thrown for a loop when they learn that their daughter Emma is dating a human. After 500 years together, Charles and Liz are admittedly sick of each other, but they might just need a little help remembering why they fell in love in the first place. Filling out their coven are Jesse and his half-human sons, along with their aging human mother Phyllis (Rose Abdoo), whom Jesse keeps mind-wiping to keep her from finding out she’s surrounded by vampires. Eternally Yours pairs beautifully with Ghosts, should CBS decide to air both shows together, and for anyone still missing What We Do in the Shadows, it’s simply a must-watch.

What To Expect From ‘Eternally Yours’ Season 1

During the panel, the Eternally Yours team revealed several plot details, including that we can expect to see a special Halloween episode in which Charles (Weeks) must play nice, despite Charles taken great offense to some vampire stereotypes that are present. We will also learn more about Max (Lewinson), one of whom may already have a connection to the coven. Meanwhile, Emma’s (Shen) vampire ex-boyfriend will also make an appearance, making Max jealous, and we’ll learn the shocking truth of how Jesse became a vampire, which even Jesse himself doesn’t know the full truth of. And if vampires weren’t enough, Eternally Yours will also feature werewolves, witches, and more.

Eternally Yours is confirmed to take the 8:30 PM ET time slot on Thursday nights starting October 8.
