‘Ted Lasso’ Season 4 Trailer Sees the Football Coach Facing a New Challenge!! Check It Out!!

There are plenty of shows that have become synonymous with Apple TV over the years, but it’s hard to argue against Ted Lasso being the series that really started it all. The show arrived during, well, humanity’s darkest hour and fed us biscuits and homely advice and made us feel good about ourselves again, while also just happening to explode into one of the streamer’s first genuine pop culture phenomena.

What initially appeared to be the end arrived with Season 3 in 2023, as Ted returned home to Kansas after taking AFC Richmond on one hell of a journey but three years later, however, belief is back. Ted Lasso Season 4 officially premieres on August 5, and this time Ted is taking on an entirely different challenge, as the new trailer shows us.

Season 4 will move Ted away from the AFC Richmond men’s team as Jason Sudeikis returns to coach a second-division women’s football team. Now obviously, this is still full of the same Lasso charm, with wordplay that would confuse even the most educated of humans, but it definitely feels like the series has taken seriously the challenge of beginning another chapter without simply trying to recreate its original three-season arc.

It’s also arriving with considerable expectations. Ted Lasso became Apple’s first enormous awards success, earning 61 Emmy nominations across its original three-season run and winning Outstanding Comedy Series twice.

The show’s popularity hasn’t exactly disappeared during its absence, either. In July, with Season 4 approaching, Ted Lasso climbed back to No. 5 on Apple TV’s worldwide streaming chart, according to FlixPatrol, despite having released no new episodes for more than three years.

The original ensemble included Hannah Waddingham (Game of Thrones) as Rebecca Welton, Juno Temple (Fargo) as Keeley Jones, Brett Goldstein (Shrinking) as Roy Kent, Brendan Hunt (Key and Peele) as Coach Beard, Jeremy Swift (Downton Abbey) as Leslie Higgins, Phil Dunster (The Devil’s Hour) as Jamie Tartt, Toheeb Jimoh (The Power) as Sam Obisanya and Cristo Fernández (Transformers: Rise of the Beasts) as Dani Rojas. New additions for Season 4 include Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsay, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, Abbie Hern and Grant Feely.
