‘Unabomber’: First Images See Jacob Tremblay Play Ted Kaczynski in the Troubling New Netflix Film!! Check It Out!!

The last few years have been full of ups and downs for Russell Crowe, but one of the massive highs was certainly getting the chance to bring his passion project, Nuremberg, to theaters. Crowe had been involved with the World War II courtroom drama for years, so passionately that director James Vanderbilt has even said that, without his dedication, the film would have never made it to theaters. Nuremberg didn’t smash any records at the box office, but the film still did quite well, grossing just over $70 million during its global run. Nuremberg was later added to Netflix, where it quickly became one of the top 10 most-watched movies at the time. Crowe has also been hard at work with Henry Cavill and Dave Bautista filming the Highlander reboot, which is likely coming to theaters in 2027.

Crowe has already starred in two projects this year, opening the year with Beast before also starring in The Get Out. Neither film made much noise at the box office, but each has had a run of success on VOD before it acquires an official streaming home. Crowe is far from done in 2026, though, and one of his next big projects at Netflix finally got the update fans have been waiting for. This morning, Netflix shared the first four images from Crowe’s new true crime thriller, Unabomber, also confirming that the film will begin streaming on September 25. Jacob Tremblay, Shailene Woodley, and Annabelle Wallis also star in the film, which follows Ted Kaczynski’s younger days as a Harvard prodigy and his inevitable turn to one of the world’s most infamous domestic terrorists. Sam Chalsen and Nelson Greaves wrote the script for the film and Janus Metz directed.

Just one week before Crowe returns to Netflix for his new true crime thriller, he’s also teaming up with Ethan Hawke for another action movie coming to theaters on September 18. Crowe and Hawke star alongside Julia Jones and Austin Amelia in The Weight, which was written by Matthew Booi, Shelby Gaines, and Matthew Chapman, and directed by Padraic McKinley. The film is set during the most intense years of the Great Depression, and it follows a battle-scarred veteran who is hired to help smuggle a fortune in gold across 100 miles of wilderness.
