‘Steps’: Current WWE Champion Damian Priest Joins Netflix’s New Animated ‘Cinderella ‘Feature!!

Netflix’s upcoming animated film Steps, starring Amanda Seyfried, has added a WWE superstar to its cast. Netflix revealed new details about the upcoming film about Cinderella’s evil stepsisters Lilith and Margot. Following Daniel Radcliffe and Peter Dinklage, Steps will also feature the voice of WWE Tag Team Champion Damian Priest.

Priest will voice the “intimidating” Cracktor, a beast with undisclosed intentions. Cracktor is a new character created for the film, as Netflix is taking liberties with Cinderella’s lore. Prior to this, Priest’s only voice acting credit was voicing The Hood in Marvel Rivals.

What did Damian Priest say about joining Netflix’s Steps cast?

Priest spoke about his experience in WWE helping to bring depth to Cracktor. “As WWE Superstars, we use our voices as an extension of our onscreen character,” Priest told Tudum. “I enjoyed channeling that energy into making Cracktor feel intense and larger-than-life. I think people are going to be surprised by how much of a show-stealing character he is.

Priest had previously auditioned for the role of Attuma in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, but lost out to Alex Livinalli. Animated projects have often cast WWE actors to expand their horizons in linear media. Dwayne Johnson voiced Maui in Moana, and John Cena voiced the titular calf in 2017’s Ferdinand.

Besides Priest, the film has also added Young Mazino as Gef and Bette Midler as the Fairy Godmother. The rest of the cast includes Ali Wong as Lilith, Stephanie Hsu as Margot, Nikki Glaser as Priscilla, Daniel Radcliffe as the Prince, and Peter Dinklage as Roderick.

Alyce Tzue and John Ripa are directing the upcoming animated musical. The film is written by Ava Tramer, James Madejski, Jen Chuck, Dana Schwartz, and Felicia Ho. It is being produced by Amy Poehler, Jane Hartwell, and Kim Lessing.

Steps is scheduled to premiere globally on Netflix on November 20, 2026.
