The last few years have been all about James Marsden, who has landed plenty of high-profile roles in movies and TV shows. He’s set to have a key role in one of the biggest movies of the year, Avengers: Doomsday, where he’ll return as Cyclops alongside other X-Men veterans like Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen. Marsden also debuted alongside Jon Hamm and a host of other stars in one of the most underrated Apple TV shows, Your Friends & Neighbors, which was written and created by Jonathan Tropper. In addition to returning to his role as Tom in the fourth Sonic the Hedgehog movie, which is coming to theaters next year, Marsden is also making his sci-fi return in another enormously popular show coming back to Hulu next year for its final season.
Marsden can be seen in one of the key roles in Paradise, the Hulu sci-fi series that was written and created for TV by Dan Fogelman. Folgeman previously worked with Paradise’s leading star Sterling K. Brown on the popular series This Is Us. Despite dying in the first episode of the show, Marsden’s Cal Bradford has been a key figure in the first two seasons of Paradise via flashbacks, and while his Season 3 status has been unclear since the Season 2 finale, Fogelman finally cleared the air this week. The Paradise scribe took to his personal Instagram to share a new behind-the-scenes image of Paradise Season 3, showing Sterling K. Brown’s Xavier Collins, Marsden’s Cal Bradford, and even Jon Beavers’ Billy Pace with the caption “Two dead guys walk into a bar #Paradise S3.” It’s unclear if this is another flashback or an example of the alternate timelines Paradise teased at the end of Season 2.
When Does ‘Paradise’ Season 3 Come Out?
Hulu has not yet set an official release date for Paradise Season 3, but it’s a safe bet that it will return to streaming next year, likely even around the same time the first two seasons began streaming. Fogelman has also confirmed that Paradise Season 3 will be the final season of the show — he’s had a three-season plan he’s stuck to since before the show aired a single episode. Disney even tried to get him to draw it out with an extra season or two, but he insisted on sticking to his plan and not adding more filler for the sake of more episodes.
