Paramount has announced the release date for Possession, an upcoming remake of the 1981 psychological horror drama film. Parker Finn wrote and directed the movie starring Margaret Qualley and Callum Turner.
Possession arrives in theaters on June 11, 2027 (via Deadline). The original 1981 cult horror of the same name was directed by Polish filmmaker Andrzej Żuławski. The film followed the troubled relationship between an international spy and his wife, which led to a series of disturbing supernatural events. It starred Isabelle Adjani and the late Sam Neill as the leading couple.
The upcoming remake is directed by Parker Finn, the creator of the Smile film series. Furthermore, he is a producer on the film alongside Jonathan Fass via Bad Feeling. Roy Lee and Andrew Childs via Vertigo, and Robert Pattinson also serve as producers.
In this version of the film, Margaret Qualley and Callum Turner will star as the lead couple. Additional cast members include Diego Calva, Madeline Brewer, Emory Cohen, Nicholas Alexander Chavez, and Paul Dano.

Cate Blanchett, who voiced Valka, Hiccup’s mother, in the animated series, returns as her live-action version. Gerard Butler also reprises his role as Stoick the Vast.
