‘Stranger Things: Tales From ’85’ Season 2 Trailer Unleashes More Monsters in Hawkins!! Check It Out!!

The Hawkins, Indiana crew may have gone their separate ways, but there are Stranger Things yet to come from Netflix. The stage play The First Shadow has closed its doors in both London and New York, but a filmed version of the production is on its way. Plus, creators Matt and Ross Duffer are working on a number of spin-offs, despite their move to Paramount. However, the series’ first spin-off, which debuted earlier this year, is headed back to Netflix for its second season this fall.

Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 is a CG-animated spin-off of the series, taking place between the show’s second and third seasons, during the bitterly cold winter of 1985. Although Mike, Eleven, and company defeated the monstrous Demodogs the season before, there are still monstrous creatures lurking in the wilds of Hawkins. The first season saw the gang face off against “Horde Prime,” a monstrous plant creature inadvertently created by Daniel Fischer (Lou Diamond Phillips), a renegade ex-Hawkins Lab scientist.

It’s a Blue Monday for the kids of Hawkins in the first trailer for season 2 of Stranger Things: Tales From ’85. The closing moments of season 1 saw a mysterious blue flower emerge from the carcass of Horde Prime, and now those flowers have spread all over the surrounding woods, despite it being the dead of winter. They’re even freakier than those fear-inducing blue blooms from Batman Begins; these can seemingly summon ghosts and control machinery, leading to a lumber truck disaster straight out of Final Destination 2. Are they connected to the Upside Down, or is something supernatural at play here? You’ll have to tune in on September 17, when all eight episodes of season 2 debut on Netflix.
