Dexter Morgan is back in Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 and just in time for the spooky season! A new teaser for the second season of the hit Paramount+ series released throwing Dexter (Michael C. Hall) into New York City in the aftermath of Harrison’s (Jack Alcott) and Dexter stumbling into a network of serial killers who all meet up in the city. After Dexter defended his “Dark Passenger” after killing Ronald “Red” Schmidt (Marc Menchaca) for pretending to be him, he took on the persona in order to take on Leon Prater (Peter Dinklage) and the rest is Season 1 history.
Set to release on October 30, Dexter: Resurrection “finds Dexter Morgan (Hall) caught between two killers — one with decades of notoriety and a lifetime of kills behind him, and the other a fresh young face terrorizing New York in ways no one has ever seen. Meanwhile, Dexter battles a new and unexpected enemy: a midlife crisis. Harrison (Jack Alcott) continues his own pursuit of justice as father and son face their darkest chapter yet.” Season 2’s cast includes Uma Thurman, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Kadia Saraf, Dominic Fumusa, Desmond Harrington, and James Remar all returning along with Krysten Ritter. Joining the cast is Dan Stevens, Bokeem Woodbine, Nona Parker Johnson, Brian Cox, and Gabriel Luna.
The teaser is simple: Dexter is getting his eyes checked. As the doctor is going through his test, she continues to ask him if it was “better before or better now” and changes the lens to find his correct prescription. Dexter continues to say “Better now” and it leads to him smirking at the camera while wearing a brand-new pair of glasses. Is this Dexter’s new look for the season? Is he going to be the hip new version of Dexter Morgan?
A Surprising New Adventure For Dexter Morgan
After Dexter: New Blood, the franchise needed a fresh kill. Putting Dexter in New York City and trying to protect his own secret and Harrison proved more difficult than tricking the entire Miami Metro Police Department for so many years. But what made Dexter: Resurrection the perfect new direction for the series came down to Dexter’s ability to mix his own “dark passenger” with protecting New York and his son and it seems like Season 2 is gearing up to be bloodier than the last.
You can see Dexter back at it on October 30.
