‘Seasons’: ‘Companion’ Director’s Next Horror Sets November 2027 Release!!

Lily James and Ron Perlman‘s next horror movie has finally been given a release date. The upcoming spooky feature has recently secured a theatrical debut, but its timing is raising some eyebrows.

Seasons is set for a wide theatrical release on November 12, 2027, The Hollywood Reporter reports. James and Jack Reynor lead the Amazon MGM feature, while Perlman, Elizabeth McGovern, Wes Studi, and Dane DiLiegro round out the ensemble.

Horror fans might find the mid-November date unusual for a spooky feature. Horror movies often target a beneficial October release window, before Halloween. Pushing a horror suspense film outside of the fall spooky season can be a major box office gamble for Seasons, given its star-studded cast. However, Amazon MGM Studios is breaking the tradition by opting for a post-Halloween launch.

What is Lily James and Ron Perlman’s new horror movie about?

Seasons follows a married couple, played by Lily James and Jack Reynor, who purchase their dream country ranch. What they don’t realize is that their dream land is already occupied by ancient spirits.

As each new season begins, those spirits subject the couple to increasingly disturbing rituals. Their discovery turns the duo’s dream home into the setting for a supernatural struggle. Ron Perlman is set to play a neighbor role, as listed on IMDb, probably next to the pair’s land.

Drew Hancock, who made his directorial debut with the 2025 sci-fi film Companion, is helming the project from his own screenplay. The story adapts Matt Query and Harrison Query’s 2022 book Old Country, which itself is based on a short story that went viral after appearing on Reddit.

Alongside the star-studded cast, the movie also has several established producers attached. Shawn Levy and Dan Levine are producing the project for 21 Laps. James Wan and Michael Clear are producing for Blumhouse Atomic Monster, while Scott Glassgold is producing for 12:01 Films.

While the release timing feels like an odd fit, the massive star power could give the horror film strong box-office potential.
