‘The Fun Lady’: Jessica Alba to Star in New Sex Toy Comedy Movie!!

Jessica Alba is set to make her Hollywood return with a new comedy project. Following her casting in Netflix’s reboot of 13 Going on 30, Alba will lead a new movie based on the true story of Linda Brewer.

The 45-year-old is set to star in a new movie called The Fun Lady. It will be directed by Andy Tennant, best known for his work on Sweet Home Alabama, Hitch, and Fool’s Gold. The comedy movie is written by Mark Steilen.

In the movie, Alba will play the character Mora, who ultimately becomes a sex toy seller and the fun lady. The comedy will be produced by Steilen and Alba. Highland Film Group is set to launch the movie’s sale at the Toronto International Film Festival.

What is Jessica Alba’s new comedy movie about?

As stated above, The Fun Lady is based on the real story of Linda Brewer, the main subject of a New York Times Magazine article titled “Everything a Happily Married Bible Belt Woman Always Wanted to Know About Sex but Was Afraid to Ask.”

The official synopsis of The Fun Lady reads, “After her picture-perfect life falls apart, former hometown golden girl Mora (Jessica Alba) retreats to her parents’ small Arkansas hometown, where jobs are scarce, and gossip is a way of life. Desperate for a fresh start, she has a wild idea: selling sex toys. The only problem is her absolute ignorance about pleasure, having never experienced an orgasm. Against all odds, Mora becomes “The Fun Lady,” crashing living rooms, shocking church ladies, and turning awkward sales parties into the hottest invitation in town. Along the way, she ignites a sexual revolution among women who have spent their lives pretending everything is fine.”

In the press release, Alba expressed her excitement to be working with Tennant and reuniting with the studios for the upcoming project. The Sin City star added, “The opportunity to tell Linda Brewer’s story of reinvention and believing in oneself is something I can’t wait to dive into. It is a journey that I find incredibly relatable and know will resonate with audiences around the world.”
