Fresh off the massive success of The Boys, comic book maestro Garth Ennis is bringing another one of his twisted graphic tales to the big screen.
According to Deadline, Amazon MGM Studios is officially developing a film adaptation of Ennis’ R-rated horror-noir comic Freddie the Fix, roping in One of Them Days director Lawrence Lamont to helm the supernatural thriller. He recently made headlines directing the 2025 buddy comedy One of Them Days, starring Keke Palmer and SZA.
Freddie the Fix brings together a familiar creative team as the adaptation takes shape
Freddie the Fix stands as the debut launch title for Ninth Circle, a horror imprint published through Image Comics and co-founded by Ennis alongside Ram V, Marguerite Bennett, Joe Pruett, and Adam Glass.
Ennis and Glass are also executive producing the comic’s upcoming feature adaptation alongside Jeremy Allen, Michael Bogner and David Stone. Meanwhile, Kimberly Steward and Alex Foster will produce the film for K Period Media with Kenya Barris for Khalabo Ink Society.
The Freddie the Fix film will follow the titular hero who works as a fixer to Hollywood’s supernatural elite. He has a seemingly magical ability to make incriminating evidence disappear without a trace.
The series’ official logline at Image Comics reads, “Hollywood After Dark—werewolves, vampires, zombies, aliens, bogeymen, predators, and…things. They all have their kinks, and they all get in deep shit. They all call Freddie…to fix it. The horror-skewed intersection of The Boys and Ray Donovan. The debut offering from NINTH CIRCLE, the creator-owned, creator-driven, horror showcase of standalone bone-chilling tales of terror and mayhem!”
Written by Ennis and illustrated by Mike Perkins, Freddie the Fix was first released by Ninth Circle in December 2024. The first issue sold out instantly and received praise from both critics and readers. Additionally, Freddie the Fix is the first Ninth Circle property to get a feature film adaptation.
