Two popular films starring Gerard Butler and John Krasinski are reportedly heading for the small screen, catering to U.K. audiences. According to Deadline, Alcon, the production company behind Practical Magic 2 and Blade Runner 2049, is planning to adapt several of its movies into television shows in the United Kingdom.
The media group recently launched Alcon International Studios with former Amazon exec Diego Piasek as President. The team is now aiming to strengthen its foothold in the U.K. and Europe. P.S. I Love You and Something Borrowed are among the films that Alcon is planning to turn into television shows. Both are popular romantic movies featuring star-studded casts.
P.S. I Love You is led by acclaimed actors Gerard Butler and Hilary Swank. Meanwhile, Something Borrowed stars Ginnifer Goodwin, Kate Hudson, and John Krasinski. It follows Rachel, who has a crush on her fellow student Dex. However, as her best friend Darcy is about to get married to Dex, Rachel must decide whether to confess her feelings or keep them bottled for Darcy’s sake.
What is Gerard Butler’s P.S. I Love You movie about?
P.S. I Love You is a 2007 romantic comedy-drama based on Cecelia Ahern’s 2004 novel of the same name. The story follows Holly, who has lost her husband, Gerry, to a brain tumor after ten years of marriage. The grief leads her to withdraw from her family and loved ones.
On her birthday, Holly receives a cassette recording from Gerry containing a message, one of the many he had arranged to have delivered to her after his death. The messages, all of which end with “P.S. I Love You,” bring Holly strength and make her realize that Gerry will always be by her side.
In addition to Butler and Swank, P.S. I Love You also stars Lisa Kudrow, Harry Connick Jr., Gina Gershon, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Kathy Bates, James Marsters, and more.
