The official trailer and key art for the second season of Stephen King‘s TV series have been released by MGM+. The horror thriller, The Institute, stars Mary-Louise Parker, Ben Barnes, and Joe Freeman, among others.
According to MGM+, the official synopsis for the series reads, “In the wake of their climactic escape from Dennison, Luke and his friends search for a way to end the Institute for good. Meanwhile, The Director enlists a new ally, tech billionaire Nolan Reeves, to help him rebuild, and Sigsby’s life as a fugitive pushes her to seek a way back ‘in’.”
The series stars Joe Freeman as Luke Ellis, Ben Barnes as Tim Jamieson, Alfie Allen as Nolan Reeves, and Simone Miller as Kalisha. Fionn Laird plays Nicky, while Arlen So, Robert Joy, and Hannah Galway portray George, Dr. Hendricks, and Wendy, respectively.

What do we see in The Institute Season 2 trailer?
The first trailer for the second season of The Institute has been released on MGM+’s official YouTube channel. The trailer shows how the series follows Luke and his fellow escapees as they try to take down the sinister organization for good after fleeing Dennison.
The trailer begins with the immediate aftermath of the kids escaping the Institute. In the 2-minute-long trailer, Ben Barnes’ Tim Jamieson says, “The Institute is more powerful than you can possibly imagine.” After escaping the facility, they are trying to search for a way to end The Institute for good.
Alfie Allen is playing Nolan Reeves, a tech tycoon who has joined forces with The Director. The trailer shows that Reeves is introducing technological upgrades, advanced surveillance, and corporate resources to help the Institute track the children. Alongside this, the trailer also showed Ms. Sigsby trying to scheme her way back into the organization.
Jack Bender directs the show while Benjamin Cavell wrote the teleplay. Stephen King, Jack Bender, Benjamin Cavell, Gary Barber, Sam Sheridan, Ed Redlich, and Michael Mahoney are the executive producers for the upcoming series.
The Institute Season 2 premieres on November 8, 2026, on MGM+.
