What is Denis Villeneuve’s Prisoners movie about?

Prisoners is a 2013 offering directed by Villeneuve and written by Raised by Wolves scribe Aaron Guzikowski. The movie follows the abduction of 6-year-old Anna and her friend. The only evidence linked to the case is a motorhome parked on their street. Detective Loki (Gyllenhaal) arrests the driver, who is set free due to lack of evidence. This prompts Anna’s father, Keller Dover (Jackman), to take things into his own hands, knowing that his daughter and her friend’s lives are at stake.

In addition to Gyllenhaal and Jackman, the movie also stars Viola Davis, Maria Bello, Terrence Howard, Melissa Leo, and Paul Dano, among others. Alcon Entertainment produced the movie with Madhouse Entertainment and 8:38 Productions.
