‘The Hunting Wives’ Already Renewed for Season 3!!

Netflix has released dozens of successful projects in 2026 both on the movie and TV side of development, but if there’s one thing we’ve learned about the streamer this year, it’s that a series making the top 10 is not grounds for renewal. One of the most shocking cancellations of the year came back when Netflix debuted all episodes of its hit new sci-fi series, The Boroughs, which was hailed as the next Stranger Things. What made these comparisons even more apt is that the show was produced by Matt and Ross Duffer, who are the creators of Stranger Things. Less than two weeks after all episodes of The Boroughs began streaming, Netflix announced that the show had been canceled — reports explaining the cancellation say that Netflix could not justify the cost of another season based on the projected viewership.

It’s becoming increasingly rare that Netflix gives shows a chance to continue beyond one or two seasons. Even this year, Netflix brought down the axe on its Yellowstone replacement, Ransom Canyon, not long after the show returned for Season 2. There is one show that’s breaking Netflix’s cancellation mold, though, which is The Hunting Wives. Netflix dropped all episodes of The Hunting Wives last year and also announced that the show would return for Season 2 after it earned millions of views. Netflix has already announced that The Hunting Wives Season 2 will begin streaming on Thursday, November 26, but the streamer just made a massive decision regarding the future of the series. Netflix announced this morning that The Hunting Wives has already been renewed for Season 3, and while not yet confirmed, it’s expected that it will begin streaming in 2027.

What Is ‘The Hunting Wives’ About?

The ensemble cast for The Hunting Wives consists of Alexandra DeBerry as Taylor, Malin Akerman as Margo Banks, George Ferrier as Brad Thompson, Brittany Snow as Sophie O’Neil, Jamie Ray Newman as Callie Baskin, Evan Jonigkeit as Graham O’Neil, and Dermot Mulroney as Jed Banks. The official synopsis for the series, which holds scores of 81% from critics and 64% from audiences on the aggregate site Rotten Tomatoes, reads as follows:

“Based on the bestselling novel by May Cobb, The Hunting Wives follows a woman as she and her family move from Boston to Texas. There, she grows close to a socialite — maybe too close — and becomes consumed by obsession, seduction, and murder. The Hunting Wives is executive produced by the series’ writer and showrunner Rebecca Perry Cutter (Hightown), Erwin Stoff (The Serpent Queen), and Cobb.”
