‘Zodiac’: Marvel Officially Announces New Spy Thriller Series for 2028!!

2026 may have been a quiet year for Marvel on the big screen in overall output, but the fact that the franchise has only put out one new movie doesn’t mean that it hasn’t made a splash. Marvel’s only movie of 2026 so far, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, is the highest-grossing movie in American box office history, and it’s also one of the few films to cross the $2.5 billion milestone at the global box office. Marvel also brought back some of its most popular established shows this year for new seasons with Daredevil: Born Again and X-Men ‘97, both of which are returning next year for Season 3. Marvel introduced a new show in Wonder Man, but the series was canceled after only one season after it was first renewed for Season 2.

It’s safe to say that, going into New York Comic-Con this week, expectations for Marvel are high. Next up on the slate for the studio is VisionQuest, the new Disney Plus series starring Paul Bettany, which will lead directly into the events of Avengers: Doomsday on December 18. Fans were expecting Marvel to reveal new looks at shows like X-Men ‘97 and Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, but what they perhaps weren’t expecting is for the franchise to announce a completely new series. However, Marvel has confirmed that Zodiac, a new spy thriller eyeing a 2028 release, is officially in the works. Plot details about the show are being kept under wraps, but the logo is eerily similar to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which has fans curious about potential connections to the old Marvel series.

What Else Does Marvel Have in the Works?

The big Marvel project everyone is looking forward to right now is Avengers: Doomsday, and it will be followed one year later by Avengers: Secret Wars, which is expected to end the Multiverse Saga. There are confirmed to be no new Marvel movies coming between Doomsday and Secret Wars, but there are a few films coming to theaters in 2028. This includes Marvel’s new X-Men movie starring Adam Driver as Mister Sinister, the MCU’s first Ghost Rider movie starring Ryan Gosling and directed by Shawn Levy, and even Black Panther 3. Ryan Coogler is returning to direct Black Panther 3, with David Jonsson taking over the role of Black Panther.
