‘The Body’ Trailer Preview Netflix’s New Raunchy Catholic School Horror Drama!! Check It Out!!

Catholic school politics are taking a demonic turn on streaming. Netflix has released the official first trailer for The Body, an upcoming eight-episode teen horror drama series from showrunner Quinn Shephard.

Drawing inspiration from ’90s and Y2K cult classics like Carrie, Jennifer’s Body, Mean Girls, and Arthur Miller’s The Crucible, the series blends high school rivalry with supernatural hysteria.

The series follows a group of Catholic school girls who begin to see prophetic visions after a dance-team initiation goes wrong. The show is described as a “playful spin” on Shephard’s own experiences as a teenager. “I literally made this for my teen self,” Shephard told Tudum.

“Tonally, I would describe the show as gritty camp. It’s a raunchy teen psychodrama with a dash of Catholic horror,” she added. The showrunner also said that she paid homage to the “massive hyperfixation” she had with The Crucible.

What happens in The Body trailer?

The trailer begins with a group of Catholic schoolgirls asking their teacher about the complexities of summoning Lucifer the devil. The teacher replies that there would be “signs” if the devil were to be summoned. This is followed by shots of the school’s students in various disturbing situations. The next scene shows a group of girls auditioning to be a part of “the Lions,” the school’s dance team.

Then follow shots of a drug-fueled party held by the girls, where an undisclosed event throws everything into chaos. A montage teases disturbing events happening at the school, with some of the girls suspecting the others of being possessed by the devil.

The Body stars Kristina Bogic, Sara Boustany, Sofia Wylie, Geena Meszaros, Shirley Chen, and Gabby Windey. Shephard directed the pilot alongside executive producers Peter Chernin, Amy Israel, Josh Stern, Riley Keough, Gina Gammell, Sacha Ben Harroche, and Blair Breard.

The Body will premiere on November 11, 2026, exclusively on Netflix.
