The Oscars race continues to heat up and there are some clear frontrunners, like Natalie Portman’s performance in Jackie, Barry Jenkins’ Moonlight, and Damian Chazelle’s La La Land. Then there are the not so obvious contenders who are still vying for top marks, perhaps the most unexpected being Seth Rogen’s R-rated animated comedy Sausage Party. ‘Angry Birds Movie’ Sequel in the Works!!

2016 has been a great year for animated films. Finding Dory, the charming, if insubstantial sequel to Pixar’s Finding Nemo, is the most lucrative film of the year thus far and Laika’s Kubo and the Two Strings just hit theaters to near-unanimous praise, though its box-office take has been not-so-great. There’s also the quite beautiful April and the Extraordinary World, and time has finally granted … Continue reading ‘Angry Birds Movie’ Sequel in the Works!!

HBO’s ‘Vice Principals’ Will Retire After a Planned Two-Season Run!!

The first episode of HBO’s new comedy Vice Principals hasn’t even hit the air but its finale is already in the can. No, the network hasn’t preemptively shut down the school-set series that stars Danny McBride and Walton Goggins as the title characters vying for the coveted title of “principal.” Instead, the show was planned to run two seasons before coming to a conclusion, one written out well in advance. As Variety reports, Vice Principals will … Continue reading HBO’s ‘Vice Principals’ Will Retire After a Planned Two-Season Run!!

Noomi Rapace Will Be in ‘Alien: Covenant’ After All!!

The creative saga of director Ridley Scott’s Prometheus follow-up has been beyond fascinating. Before Prometheus even hit theaters, Scott was essentially revealing all the franchise’s future secrets and teasing a Prometheus 2 in which Noomi Rapace’s Shaw and the disembodied head of Michael Fassbender’s David would go on an intergalactic road trip to find the home world of the Engineers. Development on Prometheus 2 continued…and … Continue reading Noomi Rapace Will Be in ‘Alien: Covenant’ After All!!

Now, we’re rewarded with a familiar face. The official Alien Anthology Twitter account released a behind-the-scenes photo from the set featuring the “creator,” Scott, and his “creation.” But a look at those … Continue reading ‘Alien: Covenant’: Ridley Scott, Michael Fassbender Return in New Set Photo!!

Rock the Kasbah (2015) Review!!

Synopsis – A down-on-his-luck music manager discovers a teenage girl with an extraordinary voice while on a music tour in Afghanistan and takes her to Kabul to compete on the popular television show, Afghan Star. My Take – Wow, this film really took a while to release here in the U.A.E, I am guessing it was due to its disastrous performance at the U.S box office when … Continue reading Rock the Kasbah (2015) Review!!

New ‘Vice Principals’ Trailer Has Danny McBride and Walton Goggins Ready to Go to War!! Check It Out!!

One of my most-anticipated shows of the summer is HBO’s Vice Principals. The series centers on two warring vice principals (Danny McBride and Walton Goggins) of a public high school, who eventually team up to take down the new principal (Kimberly Hébert Gregory). It looks hilarious, and I’m very excited to see the follow up series from the folks that brought us the classic Eastbound and Down. HBO has … Continue reading New ‘Vice Principals’ Trailer Has Danny McBride and Walton Goggins Ready to Go to War!! Check It Out!!

With CinemaCon starting tomorrow in Las Vegas, I arrived earlier today to take pictures of the new posters on display. It’s basically Comic-Con for theater owners.  … Continue reading First Posters for ‘Passengers’, ‘The Magnificent 7’, ‘The Girl on the Train’, ‘Snowden’, ‘Patriots Day’, and More unveil at Cinema Con!!

Aloha (2015) Review!!

Synopsis – A celebrated military contractor returns to the site of his greatest career triumphs and reconnects with a long-ago love while unexpectedly falling for the hard-charging Air Force watch-dog assigned to him. My Take – Its highly unfortunate that this film has been in news for all the wrong reasons. First the Sony email leak then the apparent racist casting of a white woman … Continue reading Aloha (2015) Review!!
