Oh what a year this has been! An arguably return to glory for movies. After two years of pandemic restrictions that hit the film industry incredibly hard, as well as the ever present growing threat from streaming, things were comparatively quite better this year. Especially, thanks to critical and commercial successes of films like Top Gun: Maverick, Nope, The Batman and of course, the long awaited Avatar: The Way of Water, which just hits $1 Billion at the global box office. Meanwhile, streaming platforms continued to play their part, rising in power, with mix of both praise worthy and forgettable releases. But as is always the case, while many films that debuted this year deserved praise and recognition, others missed their marks very badly. Motion pictures that were impossibly terrible. Based on my opinion, here are some of the worst films the big old Hollywood machine churned out this year:

- Blacklight
- Texas Chainsaw Massacre
- Firestarter
- Disenchanted
- Blonde
- Lightyear
- Pinocchio
- Mindcage
