‘Ballerina’: Ana de Armas led ‘John Wick’ Spin Off Gets a Poster!! Check It Out!!

We might be missing some good old gun-fu action on the big screen, but as 2025 approaches, we’re reminded that the wait is almost over. This is what Lionsgate did today at CCXP in Brazil. To tease their upcoming action movie – and their upcoming panel this Sunday – the studio has released a new poster for Ballerina. The highly anticipated John Wick spin-off stars Ana De Armas (No Time to Die) in the main role.

The poster doesn’t make much mystery about what we can expect from Ballerina. Straight to the point, it features De Armas with her back to us and holding up a gun. We can also get a closer look at the tattoo on Eve’s (De Armas) back, which spells “Lux in Tenebris” – Latin for “light in darkness.” The reasoning behind the tattoo is pretty clear: in the story, Eve will enter the world of deadly assassins after witnessing the death of her father.

A couple of months ago, we got our first look at Ballerina when Lionsgate released the trailer that indicated that the spin-off won’t veer too much away from the style that we know and love in the John Wick movies. De Armas will do her share of gun-fu paired with several elements that will make the action sequences unforgettable. We’ll also learn that this style of fighting will be the result of a very intense training regime in which Eve is taught to adapt, improvise, and even cheat if it means getting her opponent on the ground.

Is Keanu Reeves in ‘Ballerina?’

The Baba Yaga himself is returning for Ballerina because the events of the movie take place between John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and John Wick: Chapter 4. From the looks of it, Keanu Reeves will make a small appearance in the story – and for now, Lionsgate is keeping much of his role under wraps until we can finally see it for ourselves. In any case, the trailer revealed that De Armas is more than capable of conducting this branch of the franchise on her own.

Aside from De Armas and Reeves, the cast of Ballerina also features Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon), Catalina Sandino Moreno (From), Gabriel Byrne (Hereditary), David Castañeda (The Umbrella Academy), Anne Parillaud (Nikita) and Sharon Duncan-Brewster (Dune: Part One). Franchise veterans Ian McShane (American Gods) and Anjelica Huston (Smash) also return, and the movie will mark the last screen appearance of the late Lance Reddick (Fringe).

Ballerina premieres in theaters on June 6, 2025.
