After two seasons, NBC made the decision to lose Found. Among several cancellations at NBC like Night Court and Suits LA, unfortunately, the weekly procedural thriller also just didn’t make the cut, with NBC deciding the title will come to an end after its second season wraps in a few weeks. With just two episodes left and no heads-up given, it’s likely that the finale will leave audiences on a cliffhanger that will never get resolved. After a whirlwind season that has so far seen Gabi (Shanola Hampton) lose the upper hand on her ex-captor, Sir (Mark-Paul Gosselaar), the cancellation will come as a punch in the gut to audiences who have been eager to follow the pair’s cat and mouse game.
First debuting in the fall of 2023, Found introduced viewers to a different kind of procedural. While many similar titles have followed the police as they work on cracking a case, this one focused on a team of professionals who do their best to help families and friends track down missing people. The show holds a mirror up to the reality that numerous missing people fall through the cracks of the criminal justice system, which leaves little hope for their loved ones.
Leading the charge at Mosely and Associates is Hampton’s Gabi. After being kidnapped as a teenage girl, Gabi uses her trauma for the cause and pours her everything into helping others. During the first season, audiences watched as the series fully went off the rails when it was revealed that Gabi had pulled an Uno reverse and kidnapped her kidnapper, Sir (Gosselaar), and held him in her basement to gain better intel on the mind of an abductor. The Season 1 finale saw Sir breaking out of his confines, with his grand escape being a major keypoint in Season 2.
Who Stars In ‘Found’?
It’s undeniable that the drama and tension between Hampton and Gosselaar’s characters have driven the series to success, but the title is held together by a talented supporting lineup that includes Brett Dalton (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), Kelli Williams (The Practice), Gabrielle Walsh (The Vampire Diaries), Arlen Escapeta (Final Destination 5), Danielle Savre (Bring It On: All or Nothing), Michael Cassidy (Men at Work), and Dionne Gipson (My Divorce Party). The critical acclaim that has followed Found during its two-season run should come as no surprise, with Nkechi Okoro Carroll serving as its creator. In the past, the writer and producer has struck gold with such hits as All American and its spin-off, All American: Homecoming, the latter of which she also created.
