Gird your loins because Meryl Streep has just confirmed to be returning to Only Murders in the Building Season 5. The confirmation came through an adorable social media video, posted by the show’s X (formerly Twitter) account with Streep and Selena Gomez recreating an iconic moment from Streep‘s The Devil Wears Prada. In Only Murders, Streep plays Loretta Durkin, an aspiring actress that fans meet in Season 3. Immediately, Martin Short‘s Oliver Putnam becomes enamored with her and the dynamic quickly turns romantic, with the characters getting married at the end of Season 4. With her character jetting off for an acting opportunity, it was up in the air if Streep would appear in Season 5, but now we have confirmation.

In the video posted to social media, Streep and Gomez are all dolled up sitting at a table. Gomez asks “so you’re coming back for Season 5?” Streep begins to reply, “well I think that depends on…” and Gomez cuts her off saying “no, no, no. That wasn’t a question.” The exchange, almost verbatim to what Streep exchanges with Anne Hathaway in The Devil Wears Prada.

But Wait, Didn’t We Already Know Meryl Streep Was Coming Back for Season 5?

Not technically, last year, creator John Hoffman told TVLine that he was hopeful for Streep‘s return but didn’t bank on it. He explains that the decision for Loretta to jet off to her next acting project in New Zealand opened the door in case Streep couldn’t return or could only return in a reduced role.

“It’s partly pragmatic in that way, sure. But really it’s about what the trio has built together, and what Oliver and Loretta have built together. That is a little wink to Hollywood at the moment when she’s saying how, suddenly, the budget [on her show] is requiring [they shoot in] New Zealand. That was one part of it. But then it feels to me like a beautifully adult decision that she comes to, saying, “We don’t have to do this in any way traditionally… we never have… we shouldn’t.”

There was a slightly longer speech there talking about “we can long for other, and pine for each other, and then when we’re together, it’s that much more magical. That’s all I want is to keep that.” So, we’ll see how it goes. Nothing would make me happier than more Meryl Streep in the show.”
