‘Ted Lasso’ Season 4: First Look Confirms Beginning of Production!! Check It Out!!

Apple TV+ has officially kicked off production on the highly anticipated fourth season of its Emmy-winning phenomenon Ted Lasso, and the show is making a bold move: principal photography is now underway in Kansas City, Missouri — star and co-creator Jason Sudeikis’s hometown. A first-look image has teased the return of Jeremy Swift, Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, and Sudeikis himself, all gathered in a sun-drenched booth with full plates and familiar smiles. Looks like home, doesn’t it? Though part of the season will still shoot in London, Kansas City is now officially on the Ted Lasso map.

Sudeikis reprises his Emmy-winning role as the endlessly optimistic coach Ted Lasso, with returning cast members Hannah Waddingham (Rebecca), Juno Temple (Keeley), Jeremy Swift (Higgins), Brendan Hunt (Beard), and Brett Goldstein (Roy Kent) all confirmed for the new season. They’ll be joined by several fresh faces: Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsey, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, Abbie Hern, and Grant Feely, who will take on the role of Ted’s son, Henry. There’s a major twist ahead too — this time, Ted’s coaching a second division women’s football team. According to Apple, Season 4 will explore themes of risk, reinvention, and daring to take the leap before you’re ready. Sounds like Ted.

Who Makes ‘Ted Lasso’?

The show’s creative bench is just as stacked as ever. Emmy winner Jack Burditt (Modern Family, 30 Rock) joins as an executive producer under a new overall deal with Apple TV+. Series star Sudeikis continues to executive produce alongside Brendan Hunt, Joe Kelly, Jane Becker, Jamie Lee, and Bill Wrubel, with Brett Goldstein pulling double duty again as writer and EP.

Writers and co-EPs Sarah Walker and Phoebe Walsh return, with Julia Lindon joining the staff and Dylan Marron serving as story editor. The show continues its collaboration with Bill Lawrence’s Doozer Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television and Universal Television.

Developed by Sudeikis, Lawrence, Kelly, and Hunt from characters first created for NBC Sports promos, Ted Lasso became a surprise global hit when it premiered in 2020. It has since racked up a staggering 11 Emmys, including two for Outstanding Comedy Series. And whether Season 4 is the last leg of Ted’s journey remains to be seen, but this new arc — set partly in the U.S. and shifting to the world of women’s football — is a fun twist we can’t wait to see.
