While the future of Law & Order: Organized Crime remains uncertain after the conclusion of Season 5 earlier this year, lead Christopher Meloni is trading his badge for a whistle as he boards Dan Fogleman’s new drama series on Hulu. The series will be based around the world of the NFL, where Meloni will play the head coach. The drama is currently untitled from 20th Television and Skydance Sports, Deadline reports. The drama will be written and executive produced by Fogleman. It will also be executive produced by Jess Rosenthal with David Ellison, Jesse Sisgold, and Jason T. Reed for Skydance Sports.
Fogleman’s most recent project includes Hulu’s highly successful political drama Paradise starring Sterling K. Brown and James Marsden. Fogleman’s best known and acclaimed project is This is Us which starred Brown, Justin Hartley, Chrissy Metz, Mandy Moore, Milo Ventamiglia, and others.
What Else Has Christopher Meloni Been In?
Meloni has spent the last three decades or so as a multi-faceted actor in dramas, comedy, doing voice acting, and more. His most well known role is Detective Elliot Stabler on Law and Order: Special Victims Unit alongside Mariska Hargitay and, currently, Law and Order: Organized Crime. The actor also played Chris Keller on the HBO drama series Oz from 1998 to 2003. He’s also been in Veep, starred and executive produced Syfy’s Happy! He also played Colonel Nathan Hardy in Man of Steel. Meloni also voiced Commissioner James Gordon on the HBO animated series Harley Quinn. He’s also lent his voice to Rick & Morty, Captain Fall, IF, Call of Duty: Black Ops III and more.
Meloni’s varied filmography while leading a show proves that even if Law & Order: Organized Crime is renewed for a Season 6 (and based on its ranking in Peacock’s Top 10 during its entire Season 5 run there’s strong reasons for the streamer to renew it) juggling Fogleman’s show and Organized Crime is something Meloni is more than up to the task on. Deadline also confirms that should it be renewed, Meloni would do both shows.
No other cast have been announced for Dan Fogleman’s new untitled NFL drama on Hulu. No release date or production timeline has been announced. You can watch Meloni on Organized Crime now on Peacock. Fogleman’s Paradise is available to stream on Hulu with Season 2 of that show now in production.
