‘Fallout’ Season 2: First Poster Heads to New Vegas!! Check It Out!!

Prime Video’s Fallout is heading back to the wasteland this December, and our first official look at Season 2 includes a look at the high-stakes new destination teased at the end of Season 1: New Vegas. The newly released poster shows Lucy (Ella Purnell), The Ghoul (Walton Goggins), and Maximus (Aaron Moten) striding away from the battered “Welcome to New Vegas” sign, with Dogmeat trotting faithfully alongside them.

Fans won’t have to wait until December for more news. Prime Video also teased a “pit stop” at Gamescom Opening Night Live on Tuesday, August 19, urging viewers to “bring a stimpak” when they tune into the event. That almost certainly means an official premiere date reveal for Season 2 is only days away, and, of course, there’s potential for new footage as well — likely the sophomore season’s first teaser trailer.

The choice to debut new information at Gamescom isn’t surprising. Season 1 became one of Prime Video’s breakout hits, topping streaming charts and sparking renewed interest in the game series. Announcing major Season 2 details in front of a global gaming audience keeps Fallout connected to its roots, while continuing to tease fans with one of their favorite settings and inspiring more theories on how its established lore and characters — particularly Mr. Houseare going to fit into live-action.

The new setting is a major win for longtime game fans. Fallout: New Vegas remains one of the most celebrated entries in the franchise, taking place in 2281. The series, officially canon to the games, unfolds in 2296, opening up room for new conflicts, shifting factions, and unfamiliar dangers. And let’s not forget those dangers include Deathclaws, as the skull of one of the iconic mutated monsters was also teased at the end of Season 1. While the games framed New Vegas as a city of chance, politics, and double-crossers, the poster’s composition — the main trio walking away from its glowing promise — suggests Season 2 will also explore what lies beyond the Strip, where the desert’s lawlessness outweighs even the city’s corruption.

Season 1 of Fallout was praised for blending dark humor, brutal violence, and intricate worldbuilding, winning over both franchise veterans and newcomers. With Lucy’s stubborn optimism, The Ghoul’s ruthless survival instincts, and Maximus’ unpredictable ambition, Season 2 is poised to test each character against New Vegas’ shifting power dynamics, all while Lucy and The Ghoul search for more answers about their families.

We’ll know a bit more when Fallout makes its Gamescom appearance on August 19. Until then, charge your Pip-Boy, keep your caps close, and remember…war never changes.
