The cast of Spider-Man: Brand New Day is expanding with everyone’s favorite Severance star. Variety reports that Tramell Tillman, famed for his role as Mr. Milchick in the Apple TV+ series, has joined the cast of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Details about his role are unsurprisingly being kept under wraps, but the film is in production now with Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) at the helm. Some fans have already begun to speculate that Tillman could be playing Robbie Robertson, but this likely won’t be confirmed until much closer to the film’s July 31, 2026, release date.
Tillman also recently had a small role in the Tom Cruise-led Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, where he stole scenes with Cruise and Katy O’Brien. He joins Tom Holland, who is back for a fourth solo Spider-Man movie to pile on top of several Avengers appearances in Infinity War and Endgame. Mark Ruffalo will also reprise his role as Bruce Banner in the film, and they’re joined by Jon Bernthal, who will suit up as The Punisher once more. Zendaya and Jacob Batalon are also back as MJ and Ned, along with Stranger Things star Sadie Sink, who has been cast in an undisclosed role.
The Bear’s Liza Colón-Zayas will also star in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which will be the final MCU film ahead of Avengers: Doomsday. Until a few months ago, Doomsday had been set for release in May, ahead of Brand New Day. But recent delays sent both Doomsday and its follow-up, Secret Wars, back to December slots on the release schedule. This has likely caused a shift in the story, too, with Brand New Day now acting as the lead into Avengers 5, not The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
Is Tom Holland in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’?
Tom Holland has not yet been confirmed to have a role in Avengers: Doomsday, but it would be extremely surprising not to see him in the film, even if Marvel continues to keep his involvement a secret. Doomsday cast members were not shy about sharing set videos from production during the early days of filming, but updates and footage have been eerily silent for months now. Both films are expected to be major contenders at the box office to gross well over $1 billion.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day swings into theaters on July 31, 2026.
