‘Peacemaker’ Season 2: James Gunn Confirms Batman Isn’t Part of the Justice Gang!!

James Gunn‘s Superman movie has introduced the Justice Gang, a group of metahumans under Maxwell Lord (Sean Gunn) who want to do good. But, according to the DC filmmaker, not everyone is part of this team, including a staple in the DC Universe that many fans are keen to see return following the reboot.

A fan noticed that Batman’s existence wasn’t teased in Peacemaker Season 2 and wondered if it was because Gunn didn’t want to include him during that scene that retconned the old timeline. In reality, he was never involved to begin with. According to Gunn, Batman isn’t part of the Justice Gang, but it was vague whether The Dark Knight would be part of the superhero group in the future. So far, Gunn has been very vague when it comes to details about Batman and his debut in the DC timeline. So perhaps this piece of information could be a clue to what’s to come.

The Justice Gang first made an appearance in Superman, which consists of Guy Gardner (Nathan Fillion), Hawkgirl (Isabela Merced), and Mister Terrific (Edi Gathegi). But by the end of the DC blockbuster, Metamorpho (Anthony Carrigan) joins the group following the events at Jarhanpur. While Superman isn’t part of this team, they are on good terms with him and would sometimes work together to save people.

What Do We Know About Batman in the DCU Reboot?

When Gunn made his announcement about the DCU reboot, he revealed that Batman’s solo film would be called The Brave and the Bold. The feature would not only feature him, but also include his son, Damian Wayne. At the moment, details of the feature are still unknown as the filmmaker has been debunking every rumor that was shared on social media, stating that whatever news is out there is either speculation or made up.

No casting call has been announced, nor have any confirmed names been announced for this feature. The only name attached to the project is Andy Muschietti, who previously worked on The Flash. Unfortunately, according to the director, the film was postponed for the time being, and a scheduled release date has yet to be announced.

While The Brave and the Bold has yet to enter production, The Batman: Part II has received some exciting updates lately. It was reported back in June that Warner Bros had received the new script for the upcoming feature and is “thrilled.” Additionally, the movie will start filming around 2026.

Superman is now showing in theaters.
