HBO’s Harry Potter series might feel like quite some time away yet, with a 2027 release scheduled, but with the regular updates from the set of one of the biggest television projects of the decade, time will surely fly faster than a Nimbus 2001. In the meantime, Harry Potter fans will be looking for any and all related movies and shows to keep them occupied. This includes the upcoming release of a murder mystery series starring Neville Longbottom himself, Matthew Lewis.
Set to air on Channel 5 in the UK and Acorn TV in the US, Murder Before Evensong will see Nick Hicks-Beach adapt the 2022 book of the same name by Richard Coles. Starring Lewis, also known for his work on All Creatures Great and Small, as Canon Daniel Clement, Murder Before Evensong perfectly fits the cozy British crime drama sub-genre that has proven so popular internationally over recent years. Now, ahead of the show’s premiere on September 29, a new trailer, available to watch below, has been released showcasing Lewis turning sleuth and investigating a killing spree in his sleepy village. Speaking of his upcoming starring role in the murder mystery series, Lewis said:
“I’m beyond thrilled to be throwing on the old dog collar and diving into the world of Champton so charmingly created by Rev. Richard Coles. I’ve been an admirer of his work for some time and love the characters and stories he’s written. It’s an honour to work with this creative team and have the opportunity to bring the character of Canon Clement to life for fans of the book and new viewers alike.”
What Is ‘Murder Before Evensong’ About?
