Star Wars fans may be on the hunt for Adam Driver these days, but he’s headed for unfamiliar territory: television. In his first major TV role since his breakout on Girls, Driver will star in a new thriller series for Netflix. Rabbit, Rabbit is a white-knuckle hostage thriller with creatives from Dope Thief and Adolescence behind the scenes.
Where Else Can Adam Driver Be Seen Next?
One of the most acclaimed actors of his generation, Driver is always in demand in Hollywood. Last year, he played the lead in Francis Ford Coppola‘s science fiction epic, Megalopolis. This year, he’s starring in Father Mother Sister Brother, the latest anthology film from auteur Jim Jarmusch, who Driver previously worked with on Paterson and The Dead Don’t Die; he’ll star in a segment with Tom Waits and Mayim Bialik. It’s set to be released in theaters on Christmas Day. Next, he’s starring in James Gray‘s crime drama Paper Tiger, with Scarlett Johansson and Miles Teller, and Misty Green, the latest movie from director/star Chris Rock. Driver is also one of a number of actors rumored to be attached to Michael Mann‘s new crime epic, Heat 2.
Driver‘s buzziest new project, however, may be one that he isn’t starring in, and doesn’t exist. Driver recently revealed that he and Steven Soderbergh were working on a new Star Wars movie, The Hunt for Ben Solo, starring his sequel trilogy character. Despite a green light from Lucasfilm and a completed script, the project was canned by Disney, prompting a sizable outcry from the Star Wars faithful.
Rabbit, Rabbit is in development at Netflix; no release date has yet been announced.
