2026 has already been a huge year for Prime Video, and things are only going to get more exciting as we dive deeper into its slate of summer content. Prime Video is in the middle of ending one of its flagship shows, The Boys, which is set to wrap up mere weeks after the Season 4 conclusion of the adult animated show, Invincible. Prime Video is always on the lookout for its next big show to promote, and the platform has consistently invested in the YA genre over the last few years, which has helped to produce hits like The Summer I Turned Pretty, Maxton Hall, and more.
This morning, Prime Video officially released the first teaser trailer for Obsessed Fest, which features a look at some of the platform’s biggest up-and-coming YA projects. The event will take place in Los Angeles on June 27, and tickets are now on sale. Projects featured in the new sneak peek compilation include the Legally Blonde prequel, Elle, Off Campus, Every Year After, Sterling Point, The Last Sunrise, The Devil’s Mouth, Maxton Hall Season 3, Drawn Together, Your Fault: London, Perfectos Mentirosos, and Clashing Through the Snow.
However, the most exciting project to be featured in the new teaser is The Love Hypothesis, which is based on the popular Star Wars fan-fiction-inspired novel of the same name by Ali Hazelwood. If it wasn’t enough of a gift for fans to see one of their favorite novels adapted into a feature project, Prime Video has recruited Tom Bateman to play Adam in the project, who was originally inspired by Kylo Ren (played by Adam Driver). Ironically, Bateman is the husband of Daisy Ridley, who plays Rey in the Star Wars sequel trilogy. Claire Scanlon is directing The Love Hypothesis with a script from Sarah Rothschild.
What’s Going On With Daisy Ridley’s ‘New Jedi Order’ Movie?
Before the end of last year, Daisy Ridley confirmed to Collider that her New Jedi Order movie was still in active development. The project was first announced at Star Wars Celebration all the way back in 2022, but since then, it has seemingly been stuck in development limbo. It’s been confirmed that Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy will direct the film, but at the time of writing, Ridley is the only one confirmed to star. Fans were also stunned last year when it was revealed that Adam Driver and director Steven Soderbergh had developed a Hunt for Ben Solo movie, but the project was killed. Fans are desperate to see more from Rey and Ben Solo, but right now, it’s unlikely to see either of them on the screen anytime soon, barring any unexpected surprises.
