‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 3’ Will Officially Return in November 2026!!

One does not simply not air the third season of your epic fantasy series. For, when your story involves ancient evil, Elven kingdoms, Dwarven halls, Númenórean power struggles, and the slow rise of one of fiction’s most infamous villains, expectations are going to be a little intense. After the second season pushed Middle-earth closer to open war, Prime Video has now confirmed when fans can expect the next chapter, and the road to the One Ring is officially getting shorter.

Prime Video has confirmed that The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 3 will premiere on November 11, 2026. The announcement was made during Amazon’s annual Upfront presentation in New York, where the streamer also highlighted the show’s worldwide appeal. The series has attracted more than 185 million viewers worldwide and remains one of Prime Video’s strongest drivers for new Prime membership sign-ups.

Season 3 will jump forward several years from the events of Season 2 and take place at the height of the War of the Elves and Sauron. That means the show is finally moving into one of the biggest stretches of J.R.R. Tolkien’s Second Age, as the Dark Lord sets out to craft the One Ring, the weapon that will give him the edge he needs to win the war, bind all peoples to his will, and rule all Middle-earth. Peter Friedlander, Head of Global Television at Amazon MGM Studios, said the show’s response has helped carry momentum into the new season.

“From the very beginning, this series has embodied the scale, ambition, and cinematic storytelling that define Prime Video’s biggest global series,” Friedlander said. “The extraordinary response from millions of fans around the world has made it clear that this journey through Middle-earth continues to resonate, and that momentum has only grown heading into Season Three.”
