Mick Jagger cast in Alice Rohrwacher’s new movie
Mick Jagger has joined the cast of Alice Rohrwacher’s upcoming drama Three Incestuous Sisters, which is currently filming in Italy.
According to Variety, the project is adapted from the illustrated gothic novel by Audrey Niffenegger and will mark Rohrwacher’s first feature film made in English. The production features an ensemble cast that includes Dakota Johnson, Josh O’Connor, Saoirse Ronan, Jessie Buckley, and Isabella Rossellini. Filming is currently underway in Stromboli and Rome, with production having started in April and expected to continue for ten weeks.
Based on Niffenegger’s novel, the story revolves around three sisters living in isolation whose lives begin to change following the arrival of a lighthouse keeper’s son. Further details about the plot have not yet been revealed. Italian media reports have claimed that Jagger is portraying the lighthouse keeper, while O’Connor is reportedly playing his son. However, these casting details have not been officially confirmed.
Italian reports also stated that Jagger arrived on Stromboli by helicopter earlier this week after weather conditions delayed his trip by a day. The musician is expected to remain on the island for only a short period due to the limited scope of his role in the film.
The film is backed by Indian Paintbrush, which is financing and producing the project alongside TeaTime Pictures. Johnson and Ro Donnelly are producing through TeaTime Pictures, while Steven Rales is also attached as a producer. In addition to directing the feature, Rohrwacher is part of the producing team. Fandango is serving as the Italian line producer for the movie.
