‘Supergirl’: New Image Sees Superman’s Cousin Take Flight!! Check It Out!!

DC has spent the last few years rebuilding, resetting, and bringing audiences along on the journey as part of a bold new era. Now, the next phase of that journey is about to arrive. As part of Collider’s Exclusive Preview for Summer 2026, we have a new look at a major upcoming DC movie, and it’s the kind of image that gets right to the point: the Girl of Steel has arrived.

Collider is thrilled to bring our readers a brand new image from Supergirl, featuring Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El. The image shows Kara in flight, cape flowing behind her as she moves through a dark, smoky sky, giving fans a sneaky look at the new DCU’s take on the character. Alcock, who broke onto the scene in a big way as young Rhaenyra Targaryen in the first season of House of the Dragon, is now stepping into one of DC’s most powerful roles as the franchise continues building out its next chapter. In addition to Alcock as Kara Zor-El/Supergirl, Supergirl‘s cast includes Matthias Schoenaerts (The Old Guard) as the villainous Krem of the Yellow Hills, Eve Ridley (Casualty) as Ruthye Marye Knoll, Jason Momoa (Aquaman) in his dream role as Lobo, and Krypto as himself, of course. The film is inspired by Tom King and Bilquis Evely’s comic run Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.

What Is ‘Woman of Tomorrow’ About?

The comic, Woman of Tomorrow, is a darker, more cosmic Supergirl story that follows Kara Zor-El after years of living in Superman’s shadow. It’s got a pretty simple setup that also just happens to be extremely cool. Kara is decompressing and regathering her thoughts off-world, just trying to get away from the stresses of being Supergirl, while also celebrating her 21st birthday — with Krypto by her side. While there, she bumps into Ruthye Marye Knoll, a young alien girl whose father has been murdered by a dangerous man named Krem of the Yellow Hills. Naturally, Ruthye wants rapid and bloody revenge, and she asks Supergirl to help her track him across the galaxy.

After that, it’s all-out revenge, space Western, and Kara’s own introspection. The whole idea is that Kara is more than just Superman’s cousin, and unlike Clark, who was raised on Earth and never truly experienced Krypton, Kara remembers losing her home, her family, and her entire world.

Supergirl will soar into theaters on June 26, 2026.
