‘The Night Agent’ Season 4: Luciane Buchanan’s Rose Larkin to Return!!

Netflix has been firing all cylinders this year with big blockbusters featuring A-list stars, and the first to hit the small screen in 2026 was The Rip. The Miami-set crime thriller stars Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, and it came out only a few months before War Machine, the big-budget sci-fi epic starring Alan Ritchson. Following behind War Machine was Apex, the Charlize Theron and Taron Egerton-led blockbuster that scored over 100 million views during its first month on streaming. Netflix has also brought back a few of its biggest TV shows this year, including The Night Agent, the hit series starring Gabriel Basso (A House of Dynamite). Despite declining viewership in all three seasons of The Night Agent, Netflix picked up the show for Season 4, confirming that it will be the final season of the Shawn Ryan-written series.

One of the biggest letdowns in The Night Agent Season 3 came when it was revealed that Luciane Buchanan would not have a role as Rose Larkin. Buchanan and Basso’s chemistry as Rose and Peter had become one of the highlights of the show through its first two seasons, and her absence certainly played into the viewership decline. Fans have spent months complaining about Rose’s absence, and this afternoon, Netflix confirmed it’s aware of the noise. News broke today that Luciane Buchanan will return as Rose Larkin in The Night Agent Season 4. It’s unclear if she will be back in a series regular capacity or in a smaller role, but fans can rejoice knowing that Netflix is righting one of the show’s biggest mistakes. The Night Agent Season 4 is now in production and expected to be released sometime next year.

What Is ‘The Night Agent’ About?

An official synopsis for The Night Agent as released by Netflix reads as follows:

“A junior FBI agent working the overnight shift at the White House discovers a conspiracy that reaches the highest levels of government after receiving a call from a woman whose family has been murdered. Together, they must unravel a deadly plot before becoming its next victims.”

The Night Agent creator Shawn Ryan has a few other impressive TV credits under his belt. Not least of which is The Shield, the gritty police procedural starring Walton Goggins and Michael Chiklis that ran from 2002 to 2008. He also worked as one of the lead writers and producers on Shemar Moore’s S.W.A.T.
