Batman has quite the rogues gallery, but we all know that things just feel that little bit more dangerous when the Joker starts lurking around the fringes. The next big Batman adventure is almost upon us, and we’ve just been given a look at the first official trailer for his next chaper. The new footage gives us a look at Edward Nygma, better known as the Riddler, before ending on a tease that the Clown Prince of Crime is finally entering the picture.
Prime Video has just confirmed that all 10 episodes of Batman: Caped Crusader Season 2 will premiere as a binge release on Prime Video on Friday, July 31, and the streamer has just debuted the trailer at Prime Video’s inaugural Annecy Festival Studio Focus Panel, where it played to a packed crowd at the Salle de la Volière. The new season will continue that classic noir-inspired spin on Gotham City and the one billionaire psychopath in a cape and cowl who tries to protect it.
What is ‘Batman: Caped Crusader’ About?
Season 1 is set in a 1940s-inspired Gotham and follows a green Batman trying to make a difference, and make sense of the fact that the city seems to have far more criminals than good guys in it. A bombing campaign pulls him into a gang war between Rupert Thorne and the Penguin, while Jim Gordon and Barbara Gordon do their utmost to reform Gotham’s broken justice system from inside it.
The voice cast includes Hamish Linklater (Midnight Mass) as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Jamie Chung (Lovecraft Country) as Harley Quinn, Christina Ricci (Yellowjackets) as Catwoman, Minnie Driver (Good Will Hunting) as the Penguin, Diedrich Bader (The Drew Carey Show) as Harvey Dent, and John DiMaggio (Futurama) as Detective Harvey Bullock. They’re joined by Jason Watkins (The Crown) as Alfred, Krystal Joy Brown (Merrily We Roll Along) as Barbara Gordon, Bumper Robinson (The Owl House) as Lucius Fox, and Michelle C. Bonilla (9-1-1) as Renee Montoya.
