It’s war once again in Middle-earth. Over the past week, Prime Video has steadily been pulling back the curtain just bit by bit on the next chapter of its most ambitious fantasy epic, unveiling new looks at characters old and new and showing off the most expensive show on television, and now, San Diego Comic-Con audiences have witnessed the biggest reveal yet, with the first footage from Season 3 finally making its debut.

Prime Video unveiled the first trailer for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 3 during its presentation at San Diego Comic-Con, and it gave us an awe-inspiring extended look at the next stage of the Second Age saga as Sauron’s growing power rises, while he makes Mordor into his own personal playground. Last time out, we saw Sauron taking on the disguise of Annatar, the generous gift-giving elf, when the only gift he gave out was pain, suffering, and sitting on a throne of lies.

‘Stranger Things’ Star Jamie Campbell Bower Finally Debuts as Celeborn in ‘Rings of Power’ Season 3

Season 3 introduces Jamie Campbell Bower (Stranger Things) as Celeborn, the long-awaited husband of Morfydd Clark‘s Galadriel. Speaking about the role earlier this week, Bower described his interpretation of the beloved Tolkien character as something of a “lover-boy.”

Returning cast members include Charlie Vickers (Medici) as Sauron, Morfydd Clark (Saint Maud) as Galadriel, Daniel Weyman (Foyle’s War) as Gandalf, Robert Aramayo (The King’s Man) as Elrond, Owain Arthur (The Palace) as Durin IV, Sophia Nomvete (Wednesday) as Disa, Markella Kavenagh (My First Summer) as Nori Brandyfoot and Ismael Cruz Córdova (Miss Bala) as Arondir.

Earlier this week, Prime Video also released the first official image of Vickers’ Sauron in Season 3 alongside new concept art depicting Gandalf facing a towering Mûmak. The studio also confirmed that The Lord of the Rings: The Fall of Númenor will receive a new Deluxe Edition on November 10, so it’s a pretty sweet time to be a Tolkienite.

The Rings of Power chronicles the rise of Sauron, the forging of the Rings of Power, and the fall of the great kingdoms of Middle-earth, and is thousands of years before the events The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Prime Video has already begun early development on Season 4.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 3 premieres on Prime Video on November 11.
