What to know about Stephen Curry’s new IMAX documentary
Portrait of an Artist: Stephen Curry follows the NBA star as he reflects on the mindset and work ethic that shaped his career. The trailer features a montage of Curry on and off the court. The vignettes include pictures and clips ranging from his childhood to some of his greatest professional moments.
“I’ve been around basketball my whole life,” Curry says in the trailer. “But the more I play, the more I start to see it differently. For me, it’s never just been a game. It’s always felt more like an art. It’s the obsessive nature of being really into something that once you start down a thread, you just keep pulling forever.”
Later, Viola Davis can be heard saying, “Your purpose is not what you do. It’s what happens to people when you do what you do.”
The movie features Curry’s historic 4,000th career three-pointer last year during the Golden State Warriors’ home game against the Sacramento Kings. He became the first NBA player to reach the milestone.
Portrait of an Artist: Stephen Curry is directed by Gotham Chopra. John Turner, Meghan Cirillo, Nick Frew, Erick Peyton, and Sharla Sumpter Bridgett serve as producers.
