‘Icebreaker’: Auli’i Cravalho & More Join Netflix Adaptation!!

A major Moana star has joined the cast of Netflix‘s upcoming TV show, Icebreaker. Alongside them, five more actors have been confirmed for Netflix’s upcoming project, which resembles HBO‘s Heated Rivalry.

According to a new update from Netflix on X, Auli’i Cravalho will be a part of the show. Cravalho voiced the titular character of Moana in Disney’s animated musical. The American actor and singer also reprised her role in the 2024 sequel, Moana 2. Joining her would be five more actors, namely, Gabriel Tierney, Peter Berry, Chaneil Kular, Devin Craig, and Aidan Shaw.

The update from Netflix also revealed the role for which these six actors were roped in. Tierney has been cast as Aaron, Cravalho as Lola, Kular as JJ, Craig as Henry, Berry as Robbie, and Shaw as Russ. The show is adapted from Hannah Grace’s viral bestselling novel.

The new Icebreaker cast additions bring more familiar faces to the hockey romance

The Netflix series has also announced two other major names for the show. Daisy Jelley and Australian actor Connor Simos will be the leading pair for the sports-romance drama. Jelley will portray Anastasia “Stassie” Allen and Simos has taken up the role of Nate Hawkins.

Jelley’s credits include How to Date Billy Walsh, How to Have Sex, Geek Girl, and more. The 26-year-old actress is also set to appear in upcoming horror feature The Hoarder and Netflix series Poser. Meanwhile, Icebreaker will mark Simos’ first credited television role. He is also set to appear in the upcoming film, Subversion, alongside Chris Hemsworth.

“She’s the transfer gunning for Olympic gold. He’s the campus star chasing the NHL. But when an accident forces their teams to share one rink, Anastasia Allen and Nate Hawkins collide—and discipline gives way to obsession, because the only thing more dangerous than wanting to win is wanting each other,” reads the logline for Icebreaker, according to Variety.

A release date has not been announced yet.
