‘The Lowdown’ Season 2 Trailer Pushes Ethan Hawke into a New Conspiracy!! Check It Out!!

Ethan Hawke is one of the biggest movie stars in the world, but in many of his most famous films, he’s used more as a supplementary piece than a leading figure. This is most certainly the case for one of Hawke’s most important movies, Training Day, which centers around Denzel Washington’s Alonzo Harris. Hawke was nominated for his performance in the movie, but he was overshadowed by Washington, who won the award for Best Lead Actor. Hawke has never won an Oscar in his career, but Training Day was the first of five nominations he’s earned so far — if he keeps up this pace, it likely won’t be long before he claims gold. Hawke was nominated for his leading performances in Boyhood and Blue Moon, and also for his work as a writer on Before Sunset and Before Midnight.

In this later stage of his career, Hawke is switching genres for various projects in theaters and on different streaming platforms, but one of his most successful shows is finally set to return in Season 2. Hawke headlined one of the highest-rated shows of 2025 in The Lowdown, which is billed as a replacement to Taylor Sheridan’s Tulsa King, the four-season crime drama starring Sylvester Stallone. Both shows take place in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and both heavily feature the world of organized crime, even if Hawke’s Lee Raybon is more focused on exposing it than he is participating in it, like Stallone’s Dwight Manfredi. This afternoon, Hulu released the first official Season 2 trailer for The Lowdown, which also confirms that the show will return to streaming on October 14. Hawke isn’t alone in the cast for Season 2, though, which features an all-time great actor.

Here’s Who Is Joining Ethan Hawke in ‘The Lowdown’ Season 2

News broke earlier this year that Tommy Lee Jones, the iconic Western actor famed for his roles in No Country for Old Men and The Fugitive, is joining the cast of The Lowdown in a recurring role. This means fans can expect to see him throughout the season in almost every episode. Jones will play Lee Raybon’s estranged father, and his arrival in Tulsa makes things more complicated for Lee, who now has to mend his relationship with his dad to his already loaded agenda of exposing crime in his city.
