‘The Good Daughter’ Trailer Has Rose Byrne & Meghann Fahy Confront Their Violent Past!! Check It Out!!

Two estranged sisters are forced to reckon with trauma and long-buried family secrets after a fresh tragedy strikes their small hometown in the first footage for Peacock’s upcoming limited crime series, The Good Daughter.

Based on Karin Slaughter’s 2017 bestselling novel of the same name, the six-episode thriller features Rose Byrne and Meghann Fahy as sisters Samantha and Charlotte Quinn, whose lives were irrevocably fractured by a violent crime decades earlier.

As per the official logline, Charlotte Quinn (Fahy) is now a lawyer like her father and becomes the first witness at the scene of the new attack in Pikeville. As the case develops, she finds herself drawn into questions surrounding the crime and her family.

Meanwhile, Samantha (Byrne) has built a life away from Pikeville, but the new incident brings her back to her sister’s orbit. The new trailer shows the pair dealing with the difficult history between them while trying to understand what happened.

What happens in The Good Daughter trailer?

The footage opens by reintroducing the sisters alongside their father, who lies in a hospital bed before laying down terms, “Let’s get down to brass tacks. Lawyer-to-lawyer.” The clip then cuts to suspect Kelly Wilson (Shayna Benardo) being escorted into a courtroom.

Discussing the case, their father says, “She [Kelly] needs an advocate. Not a lawyer. The police think she is a cold-blooded psychopath.” Samantha quickly counters, “Because she murdered two people.” Still, their father insists, “There’s more to her story than what you are hearing.”

The footage then shows the two sisters talking together. It also gives a flashback to their past incident and their good old days with their mother. One scene shows Samantha talking to Kelly in search of the truth behind the murders. The trailer then showcases a montage of sequences connected to the larger part of the story.

Slaughter personally adapted her book for the project, serving as creator, lead writer, and showrunner, while Steph Green directs all six episodes.

The Good Daughter premieres November 12 on Peacock, with all six episodes dropping simultaneously.
