It was probably about time Taylor Sheridan decided to take over another part of the country. After all, his empire has seen Texas, Montana, Oklahoma, Michigan, and wherever the heck Lioness finds itself at any given moment, but while Sylvester Stallone has been busy establishing his own criminal operation in Oklahoma, another Hollywood legend is preparing to take over the Lone Star State. Texas is big enough for more than just Tommy Norris, Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler these days.
Frisco King, the highly anticipated Tulsa King spin-off starring Samuel L. Jackson, will officially premiere on Paramount+ on December 18, 2026, in a two-episode premiere, while Paramount also kindly dropped the first teaser for the series as well as the announcement. Written by Sheridan, Frisco King follows seasoned New Orleans gangster Lee Washington as he lands in Frisco, Texas, and discovers a hustler’s playground hidden beneath the polished surface of American suburbia.
Recruiting an ambitious protégé, a loyal driver, and a growing network of eccentric partners, Lee transforms small hustles into big business. But, every new score raises the stakes, and as his influence grows, so do the risks, forcing Lee to stay one grift ahead. Frisco may not know it yet, but its new king has arrived. The cast is led by Jackson (Pulp Fiction) as Russell Lee Washington Jr., alongside Asa Germann (Gen V), Kai Caster (Yellowstone), Lilah Pate (Outer Banks) and Savanna Gann.
Sylvester Stallone Is Returning for ‘Frisco King’
There’s a throughline from Tulsa King, too, as Stallone will be reprising his role as Dwight ‘The General’ Manfredi in a number of episodes. In fact, thanks to Collider‘s Steve Weintraub, we know exactly how many episodes it’ll be: “I am in two and a half episodes.” Stallone also discussed his experience working alongside Jackson, comparing their partnership to two heavyweight boxers who know exactly what they’re doing. He told Collider:
“You know, Sam, it’s kind of like two racers in identical cars going at the same speed. You don’t feel you’re superior, or you’re working with a neophyte, or someone who’s green. You got a guy here that’s had 50 years’ experience, so it’s kind of like Muhammad Ali and Joe Fraser. You better be on your game, or you’re gonna get punched out.”
The spin-off is executive produced by Sheridan, Stallone and Jackson, alongside David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Christina Alexandra Voros, Michael Friedman, LaTanya Richardson Jackson and Keith Cox. Voros and Friedman each directed four episodes, with Voros also directing the pilot.
Frisco King premieres December 18 exclusively on Paramount+, with two episodes available at launch and new episodes arriving every Friday.
