‘White Collar: Renaissance’: Matt Bomer’s ‘White Collar’ Reboot Series Gets a Title!!

It might be taking a lot of time, but the planned reboot of White Collar is edging ever closer to a premiere. Per a report from Deadline, the highly anticipated reboot is about to hit the open market, with original creator, Jeff Eastin, driving the initiative to bring the pitch to other players. The reboot of the USA Network series is a production of 20th Television, part of Disney TV Studios. It was considered that Hulu, a streaming service which also carries the White Collar library, and a subsidiary of Disney Studios, will be home to the upcoming reboot. However, the streamer has opted against it, hence the decision to market it to other players.

Eastin has been dedicated to seeing this reboot come to fruition. The showrunner revealed in late September 2024, that the studio was happy with the script he had put forward. Looking back on that, it is perhaps somewhat surprising that Hulu has declined to take on everyone’s favorite FBI consultant. At the same time, Eastin revealed that the reboot would be titled, White Collar: Renaissance, with the pilot episode “Masquerade,” penned by Eastin. Of the likely players who might be interested in purchasing White Collar: Renaissance, Netflix jumps to the fore, as the streaming giant already has the original series available in the U.S., as well as the U.K. and Canada.

Matt Bomer Is Excited by ‘White Collar: Renaissance’

The original series ran between 2009-2014 and besides Eastin, the upcoming reboot will bring together some familiar and much-beloved faces from the show. The main cast, including star Matt Bomer, Tim DeKay, and Tiffani Thiessen, are expected to reprise their roles when the series finally comes to fruition. However, they are not all formally attached yet. Discussions surrounding a White Collar reboot began during the early months of the pandemic, and ever since, Bomer has been a strong supporter of the project. Discussing the script for the upcoming reboot last year, Bomer revealed, “[The script is] completely in line and in keeping with the show that we were able to do six seasons of.” Adding, “It really just feels like he was able to pick up the right where we left off.

White Collar follows the charming con man Neal Caffrey (Bomer), who pairs up with FBI Special Agent in Charge Peter Burke (DeKay) as a criminal informant and helps the FBI in solving cases week after week. The rest of the cast includes Thiessen as Peter Burke’s wife, Elizabeth, Marsha Thomason as FBI Agent Diana Berrigan, Sharif Atkins as Agent Clinton Jones, along with Hilarie Burton as Sara Ellis, and Natalie Morales as Agent Lauren Cruz. The recurring cast includes James Rebhorn, Bridget Regan, Gloria Votsis, Ross McCall, and more. Sadly, recurring cast members, Willie Garson and Diahann Carroll, have passed away.

White Collar: Renaissance remains in the works and all seasons of White Collar are available to stream on Netflix.
