It’s been less than a week since Nicolas Cage detailed the secretive process of working on his upcoming Spider-Noir series, and now the show has just taken a huge step forward. Amazon held its annual upfront presentation tonight, and swinging onto the announcement board was Spider-Noir. Amazon officially unveiled the first image of Cage as the titular character in the series, and also confirmed that Spider-Noir will premiere on Prime Video in 2026. The show, which is based on the popular Spider-Noir Marvel Comic book, will tell the story of an aging and down-on-his-luck private investigator (Cage), who grapples with his past life as New York’s only superhero. The first image from Spider-Noir can be found below, and Amazon has also announced that the series will stream in both black and white and in color.
In addition to Cage, the series will star Emmy-winner Lamorne Morris, best known for his role in the popular sitcom New Girl. Brendan Gleeson, known for his roles in 28 Days Later and The Banshees of Inisherin, will also star as the feature villain in Spider-Noir. Gleeson has teased that his antagonist will be a “philosopher,” but few details are known about who he could be playing. Other names attached to star in recurring roles in Spider-Noir are Abraham Popoola, Li Jun Li, Karen Rodriguez, and Jack Huston. Guest stars include Lukas Haas, Cameron Britton, Cary Christopher, Michael Korstroff, Scott MacArthur, Joe Massingill, Whitney Rice, Amanda Schull, Andrew Caldwell, Amy Aquino, Andrew Robinson, and Kai Caster. Harry Bradbeer will direct and executive produce the first two episodes, with Steve Lightfoot (The Punisher) and Oren Uziel (22 Jump Street) co-showrunning the series together.
Nic Cage Will Return As Spider-Noir in Another Project
Nic Cage featured in a large role in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse before only appearing in the post-credits scene of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Cage’s Spider-Man Noir shows up at the end of the movie to help Gwen (Hailee Steinfeld) look for Miles (Shameik Moore), along with the rest of their compatriots from the first film. It has already been confirmed that Cage will step back into a larger role in the third and final Spider-Verse film, which is coming to theaters on June 4, 2027. Spider-Verse creators Phil Lord and Chris Miller will executive produce Spider-Noir. The first footage from Beyond the Spider-Verse was shown to attendees at CinemaCon in Las Vegas earlier this year.
Spider-Noir will premiere on Prime Video in 2026.
