‘Fightland’: 50 Cent Sets New British Boxing Drama on Starz!!

After conquering the music industry, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson made the seamless move into the world of film and TV, initially finding success as an actor in the likes of Get Rich or Die Tryin’, and then shifting once again behind the camera as he became an innovative television producer. Alongside Courtney A. Kemp, Jackson helmed the beloved Power series, which has become one of the biggest successes of the past 10 years for Starz. With Power set to debut another chapter in the near future under the working title Power: Legacy, Jackson is far from resting on his laurels, officially setting the wheels in motion with Starz on another project, this time set in the cutthroat world of British boxing.

Through his G-Unit Film & Television, Jackson will helm Fightland, which, according to Deadline, will feature eight episodes in total with filming beginning this fall in London. In a statement, Jackson expressed his excitement about the production, saying, “Fightland marks my first internationally produced show through my G-Unit Film & Television. I am excited to bring that global energy to the screen. I anticipate this to be more successful than anything I’ve done before—boxing’s raw stakes are gonna take it to another level.” A synopsis for the series reads:

Fightland follows a disgraced, formerly incarcerated boxing champion who returns to London to seek vengeance against the crime family he thinks betrayed him. With edge-of-seat action and populated by dangerous characters, this is a world of money and power never seen before.”

Another Jackson Project is Set to Hit Theaters This July

Like someone low on cash, can you not wait for more 50 Cent? Fear not, another of his upcoming projects is set to debut this July, with Collider exclusively revealing the trailer back in late April. Following a group of influencers as their hunt for clout takes a dangerous turn, the movie features lead performances from Jackson and social media personalities Bryce Hall and Hannah Stocking, with the rest of the cast filled out by Justified’s Neal McDonough, The Originals McCarrie McCausland, and combat sports fighter Paige VanZant. Of course, Jackson will be applying his producing talent to Skillhouse, alongside Shane Valdez, Brad Baskin, and GenTV founder Ryan Kavanaugh.

Fightland has been confirmed to start filming this fall.
