‘The Bear’ Season 5: Molly Gordon Shares Surprising Update After Recent Renewal!!

The Bear didn’t waste time in scoring yet another season, as the show was officially renewed for Season 5 less than a week after Season 4 premiered on Hulu. The announcement is surely one that has dedicated fans of the show excited, despite the show’s latest season dividing critics and audiences more than previous seasons. Season 4 currently holds the lowest Rotten Tomatoes score in the show’s history, currently sitting at 86% from critics and 69% from audiences. That’s lower than Season 3’s ratings and shows a sad decline from Season 1 and 2’s ratings, which were in the 90s to 100. Recently, series star Molly Gordon shared an update regarding Season 5, following suggestions that the season could face an unprecedented delay.

Season 4 ended on a shocking note, as Carmy (Jeremy Allen White) decided that stepping away from The Bear was the best thing for his mental health and the strain he was being put through. However, it meant Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) replaces Carmy in the partnership agreement signed with Sydney (Ayo Edebiri) and Natalie (Abby Elliot). Season 5 of The Bear is slated to premiere next year, but, in a conversation with ScreenRant, Gordon, who plays Carmy’s love interest and Berzatto family friend Claire, shared how she and the other cast members discovered the show had been renewed for Season 5. Her response does suggest that the show might not premiere in June 2026. Quizzed on when production on Season 5 might begin, Gordon responds, saying:

No, we all just heard about the renewal with everyone else. An email went out like an hour before, so we’re all really excited, and it’s a great thing to be a part of.”

Will ‘The Bear’ Season 5 Maintain the Release Schedule of Previous Seasons?

Thanks to their incredibly obvious talents, the cast of The Bear are highly sought-after talents within the industry, which might hamper future seasons of the show, beginning with Season 5. Moss-Bachrach is set to take his place in the Marvel Universe as he stars as Ben Grimm/The Thing in The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Luca Guadagnino‘s next film, After the Hunt, will feature both Edebiri and Julia Roberts, while White has a biopic to deliver on as he portrays rock legend Bruce Springsteen in an upcoming project. Clearly, the show’s main cast has their hands filled, and while writing out big characters, partially, remains an option, it’d be nice if the show could figure out the schedules and deliver a new season next year at the same time as it has with previous installments.

The Bear is created by Christopher Storer, with a producing team including Joanna Calo, Hiro Murai, Rene Gube, and Matty Matheson, among others. Besides White, Edebiri, and Moss-Bachrach, the ensemble cast of The Bear also includes Abby Elliott, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas, Matty Matheson, and recurring stars Oliver Platt and Molly Gordon.

The Bear Seasons 1 to 4 are streaming now on Hulu and Disney+ around the world.
