Natalie Portman opened 2025 by starring opposite John Krasinski in Fountain of Youth, the action thriller from Guy Ritchie. Now, only a few months later, one of her next projects just took a major step forward. Netflix has officially confirmed that Good Sex, the romantic comedy in which Portland stars alongside Tucker Pillsbury, aka Role Model, has officially begun production. This comes after Role Model brought Portman out onto the stage last night during his show at Madison Square Garden while he was playing “Sally, When The Wine Runs Out.” Role Model has brought out other stars in the past during the same performance, such as Renée Rapp, Dylan Minnette, and Bowen Yang. Good Sex also stars MCU star Mark Ruffalo, Parks & Rec alum Rashida Jones, rom-com icon Meg Ryan, and even Tramell Tillman, who has made a name for himself thanks to his role in Severance.
Good Sex follows Ally, a woman about to turn 40 who has spent the last decade in failed relationships. When she decides to dip her toes back into the dating scene, she gets more than she bargained for when she finds herself attracted to two men, one in his 20s and the other in his 50s. The film hails from Lena Dunham, who is known for her work on the Emmy-winning HBO series, Girls. She also wrote the script for Catherine Called Birdy (Bella Ramsey) and The Furniture, in which she even stars. It’s unclear at this time when Good Sex is going to be released, but now that it’s in production, it likely won’t be long before Netflix assigns it an official date.
The Stars of ‘Good Sex’ Are Booked and Busy
This may be Tucker Pillsbury’s big-screen debut, but it’s far from the first time his Good Sex co-stars have been in the spotlight. Portland is an Oscar-winner for her performance in Black Swan, and she’s also famed for her role as Padme in the Star Wars prequel movies. Ruffalo has never taken home an Oscar, but he’s been nominated four times in his career, and he even plays The Hulk in the MCU. Rashida Jones is best known for her role as Ann Perkins in Parks & Recreation, but she’s also a two-time Emmy-nominee for Hot Girls Wanted and Black Mirror. If Pillsbury needs any advice on set, his resources are plentiful.
