‘Harry Potter: The Full-Cast Audio Editions’ Adds Daniel Mays, Mark Addy & More!!

Pottermore Publishing and Audible have revealed another round of casting for Harry Potter: The Full-Cast Audio Editions, the latest take on J.K. Rowling’s seven-book saga as fully immersive audio dramas. Announced as part of the global Back to Hogwarts 2025 showcase, the new roster features stars from Star Wars and Game of Thrones, which expands on an already impressive cast.

Mark Addy (Game of Thrones) will voice Rubeus Hagrid, Daniel Mays (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Line of Duty) is stepping into the socks of the beloved house-elf Dobby, Alex Hassell (The Boys) takes on Lucius Malfoy, and Sara and Avni Deshmukh (Iconicakes) will portray the Patil twins. Addy expressed his excitement, saying:

Hagrid has a special place in the hearts of Harry Potter fans worldwide, and it’s an honour to bring this cherished character’s lines to life in these imaginative audio productions from Pottermore and Audible. The humanity and warmth that Hagrid displays is integral to the stories, and listeners will be captivated by how this amazing sonic world captures his larger-than-life presence and emotional depth.

The latest casting announcement follows the initial wave, which saw the addition of some major names. Hugh Laurie will voice Albus Dumbledore, Matthew Macfadyen is taking on Lord Voldemort, Oscar-winner Riz Ahmed brings some sinister energy to Professor Snape, Michelle Gomez joins as Professor McGonagall and Cush Jumbo is serving as the narrator. Frankie Treadaway, Max Lester, and Arabella Stanton cover Harry, Ron, and Hermione in the first three audiobooks, with Jaxon Knopf, Rhys Mulligan, and Nina Barker-Francis stepping into the roles for the remaining four. Stanton, of course, is also playing the role of Hermione in HBO‘s upcoming television adaptation of the books.
