Prime Video has announced April 3, 2026, as the global premiere date for its upcoming original drama Maa Ka Sum, a light-hearted series centred on relationships and emotional connections.
Directed by Nicholas Kharkongor and produced by Babita Ashiwal under the banner of Eunoia Films, the eight-episode series features Mona Singh, Mihir Ahuja, Angira Dhar and Ranveer Brar in lead roles. Written by Ravinder Randhawa and Sumrit Shahi, the series will stream in Hindi with subtitles in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam across more than 240 countries and territories.
Announcing the series, Nikhil Madhok, Director and Head of Originals at Prime Video India, highlighted its universal appeal, noting that stories rooted in relationships have a timeless quality as they reflect deeply universal emotions and bonds. He added that Maa Ka Sum portrays a mother-son relationship with rare freshness and emotional depth, capturing its tenderness, friction and quiet understanding in a relatable way. “Mona and Mihir are terrific in their roles. We are delighted to bring this story to our customers across the world on April 3rd,” he said.
Producer Babita Ashiwal also emphasized the warmth and relatability of the series, describing it as a story about a teenager trying to navigate love and adulthood through logic and data. She noted that the narrative is filled with humour and everyday life lessons that audiences can connect with. “Prime Video has always been a great partner to work with, Maa Ka Sum is a wholesome family watch that promises to entertain everyone, from young adults to older audiences. I look forward to Maa Ka Sum premiering exclusively on Prime Video on April 3,” she added.
The series will be available exclusively on Prime Video worldwide upon its release.
