Prime Video is in the Alan Ritchson business and it likes what it’s seen so far. So much so, in fact, that beyond Reacher, the streamer is desperate to keep working with one of the fastest-rising stars in Hollywood. It’s been a mutually beneficial relationship for both company and actor, and now, Amazon MGM Studios is making sure Ritchson isn’t going anywhere.
Ritchson has signed a three-year first-look television deal with Amazon MGM Studios through his production banner, Dancing Skeleton. Under the deal, Ritchson will develop and produce new television projects for Prime Video, and in doing so evolving a relationship that has already become one of the streamer’s most valuable creative partnerships.
“With the success of Reacher and our upcoming spinoff Neagley, it felt like a natural next step to continue our partnership with Prime Video as we focus on bringing top-tier episodic content to life,” Ritchson said. “Reacher is just the beginning.”
Reacher is already moving toward its fourth season, with Ritchson once again set to reprise the title role and serve as an executive producer. Prime Video has also already renewed the series for Season 5 ahead of the Season 4 premiere. As Ritchson states, Neagley, the upcoming spin-off centered on Frances Neagley, played by Maria Sten, is also on the way, with Sten just a few days ago saying that the series is due for release in the near future.
What Else is Alan Ritchson Making?
Ritchson’s Amazon slate is already looking busy outside of Reacher, too. He stars in and executive produces Amazon MGM Studios’ upcoming holiday family comedy The Man With The Bag, alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger (Terminator 2: Judgment Day). He also recently wrapped production on Amazon MGM Studios’ Untitled Mike Thornton Project (we’re fairly sure that won’t be the name of the final project), directed by Patrick Hughes (The Hitman’s Bodyguard), which Ritchson both headlined and produced.
He also has several film projects on the way. Ritchson stars in and executive produces the action noir Motor City, opposite Shailene Woodley (Divergent) and Ben Foster (Hell or High Water), which is set for a July 24 theatrical release. He also produced and stars opposite Owen Wilson (Loki) in Runner, which is slated to arrive in theaters on September 11.
Reacher Season 4 and Neagley are both due to release on Prime Video in 2026.
