‘Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 3’: ‘Color Out of Space’ Writer to Pen Next Installment!!

Bring out the chainsaws… Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey is officially in the works. The third installment in the Blood and Honey franchise and sixth in the overall Twisted Childhood Universe (TCU). The first Blood and Honey movie came out in 2023 after the beloved characters entered the public domain, and has since spawned a franchise with several other characters like Peter Pan, Bambi, Pinocchio, and more for an ultimate crossover film.

A new report confirms Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 3 aims to film in 2026 and has found a surprising writer in Richard Stanley, the scribe whose credits include Color Out of Space, Dust Devil, Hardware, and more, making him a perfect fit for the franchise. Color Out of Space is regarded as one of the films that spearheaded Nicolas Cage‘s industry comeback, but Stanley himself became the subject of controversy due to past allegations. Regardless, Scott Chambers, who played Christopher Robin in Blood and Honey 2 and directed Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare, will return to direct the new Winnie the Pooh horror film. Plot details are kept tightly under wraps, but fans can expect more characters joining the fray, just like the previous two installments introduced new and upgraded characters.

It is to be noted that Blood and Honey 3 will come after the big monster mash-up Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble, which will certainly affect the setting and line-up of the upcoming feature. The first Blood and Honey movie was a big risk, but it paid off with the love of the fans of the sub-genre, as critics gave the movie a 3 percent Rotten Tomatoes rating while the audience gave it a 49 percent.

The second movie in the franchise had a bigger budget, reflected in all areas of production. It was not only a hit, but also managed to woo critics the second time around, who gave the movie a 48 percent Rotten Tomatoes rating, while the audience score sits as high as 73 percent. With Chambers and Stanley collaborating on the third film, it remains to be seen how it fares. TCU movies are made on a smaller scale compared to big production house-backed projects. These movies get a short theatrical release, only extended on audience demand, which makes the whole affair more profitable.

What’s Happening With the Twisted Childhood Universe?

In short, the universe is churning out low-budget, well-made movies that are entertaining the fans of the sub-genre and have paved the path for other characters to be turned into slasher icons. Earlier this year, Bambi: The Reckoning made its debut and got a positive response from critics, becoming the highest rated entry in the Poohniverse with 63% on Rotten Tomatoes. Next is Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble, which will bring all the characters together in a big crossover fight and will be followed by Blood and Honey 3. What lies beyond that is anybody’s guess.
